About us

Tiverton Rowing Club was formed in January 2009 by husband and wife John Brown and Monika Bokori-Brown, who teamed up with Morag van Niekerk.  Monika rowed for Clare College, Cambridge and along with Morag, trained with Exeter Rowing Club.  They were keen to form a new club closer to home, and successfully formed Tiverton Rowing Club rowing on the Grand Western Canal, on the river Exe, at Wimbleball Lake and in Taunton.

We have a coaching team with a wealth of experience, comprising; Phil Gray - head coach at Newark Rowing Club for five years along with other significant rowing attainments, and other club members who support rowers, under his direction.
